Any time you don't play special teams, it hurts you, ... You've got to be a legit starter if you're going to do that.
Any time you lose, it's tough. There are always 50 plays where you could have won and 50 plays where you could have lost,
At the end, there was some unbelievable plays. It really took my breath away.
That's an area we need to be looking at.
Every week we've had four or five opportunities to get balls in our hands and we have not been able to, for whatever reason, to either get the fumble or get the interception, ... I don't know how to explain it. But it's put us in a real bind because you're not going to play on that side of the giveaway and takeaway ratio and win many football games.
As a coach, you feel like you're letting everybody down,
Their defense is tough. We know it's going to be stacked against us, but at least we have the opportunity and the chance.
I'll probably address this for the last time,
I'll worry about the pass routes, young man. You try and hold onto the ball a little more frequently.
I know he's disappointed not making more of an impact, not playing more, ... It's something we just have to work our way through. I think our defensive schemes are trying to use all of our people. In this case, I could see people saying, 'Hey, I don't understand that.' But I think it's just something we're working our way through as we scheme it up. It's just one of those things.
I know a lot of people would disagree with this, and I understand that. For me, personally, I felt like it was a decision that I had to make. I think we've got a situation where two quarterbacks can win ball games for us. ... I know this is something that Patrick doesn't agree with - he's a very competitive guy - but it's something we're going to have to work through.
I know a lot of people will disagree with this, and I understand that,
I have to see how this all shakes out. We will see how everybody heals up, and I will sit and look at it and decide what we are going to do.
I have said the NFL changes at roughly 30 percent a year.
