alive compass expect explain game human people rate rating ratings starting throw understand
You throw out that Donovan McNabb is starting the game with a 95.2 quarterback rating and expect people to understand it, ... There's not a human being alive who could really explain to you what quarterback ratings mean. Pythagoras couldn't, either. I shouldn't need a compass and protractor to rate these guys.
heck red sell team tried winning won
We tried to sell the heck out of the Red Sox not winning in 86 years. Here's a team that hasn't won in 88 years.
bring floor hockey net plenty room sure
There sure is plenty of room in here. I'm going to bring a net in and play floor hockey between innings.
distinct fun good hope
We had a lot of fun, ... Lou is different and he has a different, distinct voice. It was good to have him in the booth. I hope he comes back.
best looks series teams throwback
I think this is a throwback World Series to the pitching-heavy days. Honestly, I think the two best teams are playing, and you can't always say that. I think this looks like a long World Series.
million mound york
That's $25 million on the mound for the New York Yankees.

It was a really enjoyable season because of the youth we had. It was enjoyable to watch them progress the way they did and surpass most people's expectations. It was a group that worked extremely hard in practice, had a great work ethic and great senior leadership.
best excited hype job proved teams tim white
The White Sox proved it; the Astros proved it, ... You've got the two best teams meeting, and you can't say that every year. I don't know how much more of a hype job you can do. Tim and I are very excited about this Series.

I saw a couple of players down below (in the stadium) who were talking about Oswalt during the game, and they said, 'My god, he is throwing a ball that looks like it's coming at 110 mph and rising when it gets to the plate,'
best teams year
I think the two best teams are meeting. I don't know that every year you can say that.
difference hits home jason maid minute park pitching power runs saw scratched talked
What I saw during the postseason, and we talked with Lou Piniella about this on the air, is what power pitching can do for you. The Astros got hits and scratched out runs and had some Minute Maid Park home runs by (Lance) Berkman and Jason Lane, but the difference (in the series) to me is what power pitching can do in October.
almost baseball coming drawing excited games nfl people playoff stand stories terms thrilling watching
In sports, there's really nothing like postseason baseball in terms of drawing story lines, coming to conclusions, watching stories develop. In the Yankees-Red Sox series, Games 4 and 5 were two of the most thrilling games you'd want to see, and when you have a buildup like that, people are going to be excited to see Games 6 and 7. In football, the games can be just as thrilling, but they stand on their own. A regular-season game in the NFL has almost a playoff feel some weeks.
base chicago either houston nuts pitching run runs saw squeeze teams white
Houston and Chicago are pitching heavy. They're two teams that can run the base paths, ... We saw it in the ALCS and the NLCS. These teams will squeeze to get runs in. The White Sox have a little more pop, but I don't see the offenses going nuts on either side. I think it's going to be a long series, an even series.
