attention ball bit couple early frustrated great match missed needed pay shooting shot transition
We had some breakdowns defensively. A couple of them were in transition where we missed a shot and didn't match up well. We weren't shooting the ball great early and probably got a little bit frustrated and didn't pay attention in transition like we needed to.
came defensive freshman huge late plays prouder shots
Dominique was huge for us tonight, as he's been all year. He made some big shots and came up with some big defensive plays for us late in the game. He didn't look like a freshman tonight. I couldn't be prouder of this young man.
andrew conference creating east great job needed paint played player season shots today
Andrew played like a 6-11 All-Big East Conference player today. He did a great job creating shots in the paint and was a big part of our win, as was Sterling (Williams). All season Sterling has made shots when we needed them, and today was no different.
ball guys played shoot shot three today
All three times we played Christopher Newport, we got any shot we wanted. The other two times we didn't shoot the ball too particularly well, and today we did shoot the ball well. We've got some guys who can shoot it, and we are going to let them shoot it.
ends year
There's only one that ends the year with a win. This way they get to go out and get recognized.
life lived rare
Here was a rare man, who lived a rare life and showed us the way to live life at its fullest.
confused days deter discovered fighting knew life lived man rare
I discovered a rare man. In days of confused identities, this man knew who he was. Nothing could deter or confuse him. ... This man lived his whole life fighting for freedom.
great job rebound struggled
More than anything, we've struggled to rebound with them. They do a great job on the glass.
ball last minutes nights physical tough win
You're going to have nights where the ball doesn't go in the basket, but if you're going to win a championship, you've got to be solid, tough and physical defensively and I don't think we were that, especially in the last 10 minutes of that game.
calls easy free line needed nobody points row score standing throw
There were about 10 points they scored in a row because we weren't where we needed to be defensively. Consequently, you get fouled calls that way, and it's pretty easy to score when you're standing there at the free throw line with nobody guarding.
good solid win
I thought we did enough solid things to win the game. There were stretches where we were pretty good defensively.
bit came hit hitting transition
When they hit that 3, I thought Sterling's 3 when we came right back down in transition was pretty big. They got a bit of momentum, but we got it right back by hitting that shot.
opportunity time
Any time there was an opportunity to get on a stage, I'd do it.
game possibly win wish
I just told them that I thought they did everything they possibly could to win that game twice. I wish I had something to say to them to make it feel better. But unfortunately I don't.
