ball course energy iowa love run sideline
I like his energy level. During the course of that Iowa game, the more he ran, the more he wanted it. He would run by the sideline and say, 'Get me the ball again.' You love to see that.
guys special
I like having guys that you have to take a special look at,
attacked proud
I'm real proud of the way he's developed. He's attacked being a quarterback.
depth downside
The downside probably is, what's your depth at quarterback?
enjoy environment feeling guys land memories moment relish time until walk wonderful
The environment at the Fiesta Bowl, from the time you land until you play the game, is extraordinary. There are wonderful memories when you walk into that stadium. I think our guys are going to relish that feeling and enjoy every moment of that.
ability both lane promise shown three
and Maurice Wells will get some opportunities. And both Shaun Lane and Erik Haw have shown us that they've got some ability as well. So how many will we play, I couldn't promise you. I would say three or more.
discussed good major maybe obviously second task
And, of course, the quarterback has to make plays. That's a major task. The second major task - and maybe more important than the first one I discussed - is they (the quarterbacks) have obviously got to make good decisions.
confidence enthusiasm excellent good happens hitting kids ohio perhaps small state step tradition uphold
These kids are competitive; I thought the hitting and enthusiasm (on defense) was good. But real confidence happens over time. Perhaps we made a small step in that regard. These kids want to be good and uphold the tradition of excellent Ohio State defense.
country games kids matter ohio players seen team three time trying tv win
The kids we recruited this year, from the time they were 13 to 18, have seen us on TV more than any other team in the country and have seen us win big games and three BCS bowls. Ohio is where we're always going to begin, but we're trying to get better in all phases, and it doesn't matter where the players are from.
athlete build certainly future grateful guy mike ohio provided state strongly
You can?t give back to the past, but you can certainly build to the future and show you?re grateful for what was provided for you when you were here. Mike is that kind of guy and Jen was an athlete here, as well, and they feel strongly about Ohio State athletics.
anytime close far keeping kids love
The kids competed, and anytime you tell them that you are keeping score, they love it. That was as close to game-like as you can get. Now we know more about the capabilities we have, and we know how far we have to go at some positions.
real thinking years
I told (my wife) that there's a three-month aftermath that you better be able to handle, because it's real. I think the worst thing we could do is push it away and say, 'Hey, it's not happening. We don't have time for this,' because we worked so hard to get to that point. ... But the reality is (our opponents the next year) are going to come after us.
believe writing fundamentals
I believe that when we write things down, we being the process of activating the fundamentals in our lives.
hurt two abuse
There's two things that you don't listen to: flattery, which can't help you, and abuse, which can't hurt you. You have to look at the facts.
