bad
We were just very bad in the first game-and-a-half. I don't know what was going on.
concerned time
We are concerned with the time off. We want to get started.
chances damn gave gonna team
They're pretty damn good. When you give a team like that as many chances as we gave them, you're gonna be in trouble.
breed consistent defense games looking throughout together
Once we get out there and put some games together where we have some consistent defense throughout the game, that'll breed our confidence. That's what we're looking to do right now.
great job nice quality six throwing
Jake Wade did just such a great job throwing strikes, going right at them. He pitched six quality innings. It was just nice to see him come out like that.
early
He comes out early all the time. But he's struggling.
came hoping obviously school small
He came to our camp. He's good. We were hoping he was someone from a small school and no one would find out about him but obviously that wasn't the case.
chris far left locate middle saw
Chris didn't locate it in far enough. He left it over the middle and you saw the results.
against coach everybody good knows last southern week
As a coach we always say no, but everybody knows it is. Everyone will come out the students, the fans. Even last week against Southern we had a good crowd.
deal great job major second staying
I probably should have made more of a major deal about Saturday's second game. We've been doing a great job of staying in games.
anyone beating excited game illinois matter neat state
The neat thing for this game is we didn't get all excited that we were beating Illinois. We play the same way no matter if it's Illinois or Illinois State or anyone else.
base early hard neat swinging
The neat part is that we're swinging early in the count. When you get two strikes, it's hard to get base hits.
bugs focus gives hits instead lack settling
Instead of settling down, he gives up two hits and the lead. It's a lack of focus that really bugs me.
above excited five innings mike six
I'm excited how Mike pitched above 80 pitches. We're excited to see him give us five or six innings on Saturday.
