I was swinging the bat well in Chicago, had some good swings in Philadelphia but just not here. Putting the ball in play would be helpful. I just do something wrong and (the shoulder) gets a little sore. I take a bad swing, it gets a little worse.
Show up, get your feet wet, set a good example; there's lots of reasons to.
We're not doing the job, and they are. That's a classy team and a good team. They're beating us right now.
The ball carried good to left field early in the day and I think the wind shifted. It's just going to be one of those things where you have to wait and see. But it was a perfect day, you can't ask for anything more.
Stuff-wise, that's as good as it gets in this league, ... The combination of him and Brad Ausmus behind the plate is just a tough combination. Brad knows what he's doing, moving the ball back and forth, fastballs away and cutters. It's one thing to move the ball around, but it's another thing to execute the pitches.
Stuff-wise, he's as good as it gets in this league.
I think Brad, to me, is the best closer in the game. His stuff is way above average, and he's got a good idea what he's doing. He's still kind of new to the league, and guys really haven't gotten a feel for him. But I think even if you have a feel for him, you still don't have much of a chance.
He's as good as it gets. What else can I say?
He did the best he could do with what he believed in, and hopefully he'll come here, get a good ovation, have a good weekend, and it will be good for Cardinals baseball all the way around.
It's nice. We're trying to really be careful and not get it out of control. We're working toward the goal of winning the World Series. This is a good step.
I had a chance. Carlos made a great play on Juan. I thought I hit the ball pretty good, but it just didn't go anywhere. I feel bad for Jeff. Jeff pitched a pretty good game, and two big errors, they scored two runs.
Because he's a good player - he's got great defense, a good arm, runs the bases well and just plays it right.
I like to have a good time. I'm playing a great game, so why should I stop smiling when I get on the field?
Right now they are overloaded in terms of manpower.
