We all had expectations when we came here, ... Some of those expectations aren't being met. It's disappointing and frustrating for all of us. Our job is (to) keep people motivated and to remind them we're doing something valid. We can take pride in it.

While the college has accomplished many things academically during the past six years, there have been some problems related to administrations of federal Pell grants. The college needs the guidance of someone with considerable experience in this area, and the Board felt that Dr. Linker would be an asset to the college at this time.

Those who oppose immigrant rights would love to have blacks and Hispanics working against one another. They would also love to use blacks against Hispanics in the same way that impoverished blacks were used as a threat to white workers in the beginning of the labor movement. But we are united in the fight to get equal rights for all people.

For every three mergers and acquisitions, one is done extremely well, one fails and one kind of narrowly succeeds or fails.

It's always great when you can get girls signing to Division I scholarships. I think we had some exceptional athletes around the area this year. The Central District this year was just loaded with talent, and to be honest, each year I seem to be more and more impressed with the skill level the freshmen coming in have. That really has a lot to do with the youth and club programs around here.

We've seen good results in animals, but that could fail in humans. We're very hopeful here.

Watching it on TV, I noticed it's getting worse. I just hope those people are doing fine up there and whatever help we can bring them, hopefully everyone prays for them.
