came far held player point remember
In all my years of coaching, I can't remember a player who came as far as he did at that point of his career. He should be held up as an example.
harder scores talent work
I know what it's like to be A) at another level, and B) overwhelmed with talent. Tonight, it didn't come easy. ... We had to work harder than we have had to work recently. Sometimes scores can be very deceptive.
deeply game honored humbled sacred taken
The game has taken me back to Springfield and I am so deeply honored and humbled to be in such a sacred place.
changes game grab jeff nobody
The game changes when Jeff comes in. When he got a rebound, nobody was going try and grab it away from him.
became early east game physical reminded
The game became much more physical than I would like to have seen. It reminded me of a Big East game probably back in the early '90s.
entry opportunity passes players post replace spread three
The first two or three passes should be used to spread the defense. Then you have a better opportunity for entry passes, because the post players will replace the back of the zone.
ball carried college control controlled dominated final game good great guard guys inside men name teams terrific
The college game is controlled by guards, has been and will be. You guys are going to try to name all the great big men who have carried their teams to Final Fours recently. You're not going to come up with any. You're going to come up with teams that are dominated by good inside play and terrific guard play. In the college game, guys that control the ball control the game.
alone array came coaching east faced jim jimmy john meeting rick thompson
The first Big East meeting I went to there was P.J. Carlesimo (Seton Hall), John Thompson (Georgetown), Louie Carnesecca (St. John's), Rick Pitino (Providence), Jim Boeheim, Jimmy O'Brien (Boston College) and Rollie Massimino (Villanova). That's what we faced when we came to the Big East. That coaching array alone I think made the Big East very special.
minutes team
The first 10, 15, 18 minutes we were really special, the kind of team I know we can be. I actually think we're getting better.
capable numbers
All those numbers would tell you that we did not do the things we're capable of doing at all times. We didn't do some of the things I know we're capable of. We had moments, but not enough.
accentuate capable numbers
All those numbers will tell you that we did not do what we are capable of doing. We have to accentuate what we do well.
changed emotion express freshman game jeff sudden
All of a sudden the game changed when Jeff Adrien got in it. That was something for a freshman to express his emotion the way he did.
allowed double fine game outside physical
The game was allowed to be physical on the outside through double teams, that's just the way the game evolved. Inside, we would have been fine with that.
basketball best favorite game hope love talk time win
This is my favorite time of the year. I love it. I just hope we come out and play the best basketball possible. Win and advance: that's all we think about. It's one game at a time. We don't talk at all about Indianapolis or Washington, D.C.
