Jerry Wainwrightis an American basketball coach who is currently associate head coach at Fresno State. He was last the Director of Basketball Operations for the Marquette Golden Eagles. He was also the head coach of DePaul University Blue Demons from 2005–2010. Following his mid-season firing in 2010, Wainwright left college basketball to promote charity causes in North Carolina. The biggest thing, when you play teams like this, you've got to stand in the middle of the ring. You cannot get on your heels. I told them before the game, 'We're going to get knocked down, you've got to get back up.' And I thought the kids did a good job of that.

It's like you're dealing with two sets of standings. You look at who's winning the league, but you're looking far more at the bottom and seeing where that line is (for the Big East Tournament). It's something we talk about every day.
