It was a great night. It just speaks for our program, for our school, and for the state of North Carolina. We probably had 1,000 ex-players here. I was telling those guys that they helped set the foundation for everything that was done tonight.

It's a double whammy. People end up wasting their money, and on top of that, they've contaminated their environment.

We're looking pretty good so far, but that's against ourselves, ... I know EKU is talented in that area, and the last time we went up there (in 2003), they ran a kickoff back against us, and they ran a punt back against us.

We were in a situation we could have lost this game. We were in the same situation we were in when we lost to Western Carolina (in the final game) last season. But these guys went out there and won this one.

We'll be giving people obedience tips for their dogs and how to get their puppies started properly.

We'll learn a lot from this ballgame, ... Overall, we can't give much better of an effort than we gave.
good kids last loose responsibility
Some things got loose last year, and that's my fault. I take responsibility for that. But I feel good about these players. I know what kind of kids we've got. I know what they want to accomplish.

I think you could see we've worked real hard at running the ball. We learned a lot watching them against James Madison and thought we could run the ball on them.
alexander america extremely harold kicks matt strong
He's just inconsistent, ... That's understandable because he's a freshman. Matt sometimes kicks it like (former All-America) Harold Alexander and sometimes he kicks it like I do. But he has an extremely strong leg.
defense fat kids
Their defense is impressive. They don't have any fat guys. They're all tall, rangy kids who can run.
case coach football happy head next planned year
I have never planned on doing anything but be the head football coach at Appalachian and am happy that will be the case for next year and beyond.
enforce law leash ordinance
I don't want to have a leash law and have no way to enforce it. We'd be enacting an ordinance we're not going to enforce.
