best biggest competing enjoy horses passion races routine
I still enjoy competing in the biggest races on the best horses on the biggest days. But to get to those days, there are a lot of routine days, and I just didn't feel the passion I should have felt.
best dealt eat either guess hand hay hero knew open played race silver time tree
You're either a hero or a goat. I guess I'll go eat hay tonight. I think Silver Tree was probably the best horse. But going into a turf race with a lot of speed, I knew it would probably set up that way. It didn't open up in time for me. I played the hand that was dealt me. It just wasn't enough.
best department education ideas
He?s been one of the best ideas the education department has had in a long time. He?s very bright.
best coming dream horse
He's the best 2-year-old I've ever been on. You dream about a horse like this coming along.
horse mind
I've always thought that one horse wouldn't make up my mind one way or the other,
figure sun trying
Everyone was trying to figure out what Disco's Sun was doing, and it put me in the catbird seat.
dangerous far less seat
This new seat will be far less dangerous than my old one.
becomes extremely lawsuit sooner
We've been extremely patient. We've done everything we can to accommodate them. Sooner or later, the lawsuit becomes necessary.
expect explosions grueling type
I don't think you can expect those explosions you get in shorter races. It's more of a long, grueling type of racing.
alabama closer competition distance drop easy handled heading pace presents problem skeptical
I was skeptical heading into the Alabama because of the distance and the competition then she handled with ease. She's pretty easy to ride. She doesn't drop out the back and she could've been a little closer in the Alabama had I wanted, but I thought the pace being what it was that I would just tuck in. She presents no problem for a rider.
confident
I was pretty confident all the way around.
great last
If this is my last Breeders' Cup, it's a great way to go out.
blocked early feeling needed nowhere spot
I didn't get to a spot as early as I needed to. I got blocked and had nowhere to go. I had a feeling it was going to be too little too late.
came cigar found game horses loved
I didn't get into this game because I loved horses. But when I found Cigar I came to love horses. He was so genuine, so charismatic.
