great last
If this is my last Breeders' Cup, it's a great way to go out.
blocked early feeling needed nowhere spot
I didn't get to a spot as early as I needed to. I got blocked and had nowhere to go. I had a feeling it was going to be too little too late.
came cigar found game horses loved
I didn't get into this game because I loved horses. But when I found Cigar I came to love horses. He was so genuine, so charismatic.
alabama closer competition distance drop easy handled heading pace presents problem skeptical
I was skeptical heading into the Alabama because of the distance and the competition then she handled with ease. She's pretty easy to ride. She doesn't drop out the back and she could've been a little closer in the Alabama had I wanted, but I thought the pace being what it was that I would just tuck in. She presents no problem for a rider.
taken thrown
She's taken everything that's been thrown at her,
created figure great hate losing perfect scenario though trying
I hate to see Javier come off, but it created a perfect scenario for me. There was more speed, more of a 'rabbit', and it put me in a great spot. Everyone was trying to figure out what he (Disco's Son) was doing, and it put me in the catbird seat. Even though I was losing ground, I was in a great spot.
created hate perfect scenario
I hate to see Javier come off, but it created a perfect scenario for me.
close cup dubai olympian pinpoint race united victory
If I had to pinpoint a race for me, it would be the Dubai World Cup with Cigar. Not only was it a victory for me, but I was representing the United States. It was as close to being an Olympian as I could probably ever be.

adaptable certainly future hold needed thinking took turn turned
I took a hold of him to see how much he would turn off, thinking of the future and a mile-and-a-half. He turned off fine. He was certainly there for everything he needed through the stretch. I think he is adaptable to about anything.
announcing beyond emotion emotions enriched great horse jockey life racing retirement wildest
It is with great emotion that I am announcing my retirement as a jockey in the sport of horse racing. Thoroughbred racing has enriched my life beyond my wildest dreams.
access areas grim heard
There's a lot of areas we haven't been able to get access to but from what we've heard it's a pretty grim picture.
ride thanksgiving
I'll ride through Thanksgiving and think about it.

I hope more people bet to place than to win.
