career detroit dream everybody family front home opportunity seen since win
This is amazing. You play your whole career for this opportunity, and to have this opportunity at home in Detroit . . . to win a championship in front of my friends and family and everybody who's seen me play since I was a kid, it's a dream come true.
came losing sight super
This has been a lot of fun. The one thing we're not losing sight of is we came here to play the Super Bowl.
bowl detroit greatest people perception super
The perception is that it's not the greatest city, but Detroit is an up-and-coming city. After the Super Bowl is over, people are going to see that it's a lot better than advertised.
biggest girls guys honor jersey kids pick seeing thrill wearing
I think the biggest thrill I've had is seeing guys and girls and kids and grandmothers and grandfathers wearing my 36 jersey. That's an honor for me because you can pick anybody's jersey to wear.
biggest dome loud playing rattled understanding understood
I think the biggest thing was understanding what we are going into. I think not playing in a dome for so many years, it really rattled us. We understood it was going to be loud and you can't do anything about it but play through it.
spectator
I was a spectator out there, ... I can't give you much more than that.
against anybody beat everybody learned mistakes position supposed taking
I think we've learned from the mistakes of the past, and we haven't been overconfident, taking anybody for granted. I think that's because of the position we were in, working our way up from the bottom. Everybody is supposed to beat us. It's us against the world.
bid decided incredible mission win
It is an ending. It's been an incredible ride. I decided to come back and win a championship. Mission accomplished. With that I have to bid a farewell.
Just get me to Detroit. Just get me to Detroit.
bring brought gave joey lead moment porter
Joey Porter told me, 'It's only right that you lead us out there. It's your home. You need to bring us in. I was in awe. They wanted me to bring them in and I brought them in. It was incredible. It gave me a moment I'll never forget.
bad based believes criticism criticize critics-and-criticism easy guy joey past porter shows speaks throughout
Joey Porter is getting criticism based on what he (has) said throughout the playoffs. I think it's easy to criticize him because of what he said in the past. But it's not like things he said in the past weren't true. The guy speaks off the cuff; he shows you what he believes and what he thinks. That's not a bad thing.
cloud darkest dust game guy hard people positive relate swing three trying work yards
I think it's been my work ethic. I've just been a hard worker, a guy that's always trying to be positive and put a positive swing on things sometimes even in the darkest moments. And I think people can relate to that being a blue-collar guy. My game is a blue-collar game. Three yards and a cloud of dust and get up and do it again. That's the way in the Midwest, especially Detroit, which is a very, very blue-collar town. I think people relate to that, as well as Pittsburgh.
gives plus understanding win
It gives us an understanding of who we're up against. We know what we have to do to win each game, and I think that's a big plus for us.
adrenaline behind gives optimism shot stuff
It gives us a lot of optimism because we know that he's here. All of that other stuff is behind us, and it's a shot of adrenaline for him to be here.
