ball shoot sit unselfish
He's such an unselfish player. I told him he was going to have to shoot the ball or he was going to sit -- it was that simple.
best buried glad line
He's our best free-throw shooter. I'm glad he got on the line and buried them.
beat both depth game impressive knew surprise year
I didn't think someone would do it this year because of the depth of the conference, because of how much every game is going to take out of you. This is real impressive for both teams. It doesn't surprise me, any of the upsets, because we knew we could get beat any night.
consistent count guy played veteran
He played like a veteran tonight. He's the most consistent guy we have. That's what we count on him for.
feet reason understand watch
For some reason in the first half, it was like our feet were frozen. I've got to watch the film to understand it.
came good guys happened intrigued kyle mike played players playing
If he and Mike came, we wouldn't be able to get Kyle (Lowry). If we didn't get Mike and got (Shakur), we probably could get Kyle. Players like playing with good players. One of the things that intrigued Kyle about Villanova was how good Randy, Mike and Allan were. When he came and played with them I think he was impressed. Sometimes some of these guys like being around other real good players and I think that's what happened in Kyle's case.
born four guards necessity
If I had four guards like this again, I would do it. But this was really born out of necessity.
both definitely gay impact key leadership parallel senior teams williams
I definitely see the comparison. Both teams had key senior leadership and I can see the parallel between Rudy Gay and Marvin Williams and the impact that each has. I had never really thought about this before, but I definitely see it.
both leadership
I can't tell them apart. They both do the same things every play and that's where our leadership comes from.
court home
I feel a little guilty. That was a real home court for us.
coming decide deep enthusiasm excited goal goes hoping looks matched slow time toward
I don't want to slow him down at all right now because he's excited about the possibility of coming back. I know he looks at it as his goal and I don't want to take away his dream. And if he does decide to play, I'm going to let him. I'm hoping as time goes on, his enthusiasm is matched with some deep thinking, which I think it will be, and then we look more toward the future.
good guards rebound score shoot
I don't want to make this complicated, but we have really good players. We have guards that can shoot and score and they can go rebound the ball.
I don't think this is anything we don't think we can overcome.
best coaches coming conference debate great looked players previous school season selection speaks standpoint success successful tournament tradition whether
I don't think (the selection committee) looked at this season as a shock. I think they looked at from the standpoint that Villanova has done this before. They had a great year. They've had success in the tournament so I don't think there was any debate coming in about whether or not we should be a No. 1. They play in the best conference in the country. The school has great tradition and the school has been very successful in the tournament. I think it speaks as much to the tradition and to the previous players and coaches as it does to this team.
