basketball campus coming kyle missing pick rather semester
Look at Kyle missing the first semester and coming back and being able to play because of his basketball IQ. Shane has not been on campus the whole first semester, and has been able to come in and pick things up rather quickly.
depth time
I think our depth over time just got them a little tired.
adjust almost beat challenged east ferocious finesse level matched matter night physical physically playing prepared record style team teams
I think night in and night out the level of physical play you're going to be matched with will be something they'll have to adjust to. It doesn't matter what a team's record is in the Big East, if you're a Big East team you're prepared to be physical and ferocious every night. I don't know of any teams have a finesse style of play. It's almost like playing football, where you can physically get beat up. You're going to get physically challenged every night.
guys handle settle
I just wanted our guys to settle down. We have experienced guys; they know how to handle it.
cincinnati difficult environment hard perfect plays team
Cincinnati plays as hard as any team in the Big East, and this environment is as difficult as any in the Big East. We're going to see the same thing Sunday. It's like we set this up for perfect preparation.
leg percent resistance shooting strength work
His leg strength is at about 90 percent of where it was before. He's doing resistance work and is shooting every day.
But I'm going to let him make the decision.
bit coaches fans great guys happens hell lost players sure today toughest understood win
It?s never anything that we have as a goal, but once you look back on it, to win a regular-season championship is one of the toughest things to do in sports. Coaches and players know that. Fans usually get into tournaments and things like that. And that?s OK. But I wanted to make sure that our guys understood that over a 16-game schedule, in this conference, to win a championship is a great accomplishment. If we would have lost today and been 13-3 in this conference, that?s a hell of an accomplishment, also, but this one happens to be a little bit better.
experiment
It's really been an experiment to this point. So far, it's been working out.
regular respect sign
It's real sign of respect for what we did in the regular season.
case credit florida four wish
As a coach, everything I have I stole from somebody. In the Florida game, it was more of a case of, let's get through this, than, let's go to four guards. I wish I could take credit for it, but it's not really the case.
against beat great guys hate tough
(Smith and Dudley) are the kind of guys that when you play against them, it's tough to like them. But when you get to know them, they're great kids. You hate to play against them, though, because they kill you. They beat you up.
answered time
Every time we've been tested, they've answered the question.
great leader
The kid's the best. He's a great leader ... It's scary.
