both felt few left needed round short
Each day, I felt like a left a few (strokes) out there. But today, I made the putts I needed to make, both the short ones and the ones that really made this round complete.
both chance crazy matching needed shoot surprised today
Both D.A. and I thought if we could get to 21 or 22 under and shoot something crazy today we'd have a chance and we were doing what we needed to do. We were surprised Loren and Don were matching us and going even lower.
best confidence events few next past played time win won
I've always said the best time to win is when you've just won, ... You have that confidence going for you. In the past on the PGA Tour, when I've won tournaments, in the next few events I've always played very well.
craig fun
Craig is just what you see. There's no disguising him. He let's you know how he feels. He's a lot of fun to play with.
rounds three
There's no cut, so I can get three rounds in,
bunker feet foot front great grounding guy hit hundred last leaf leaning picked playing sand seven shooting took
I was playing with this guy one time, and he was shooting a hundred and fifty, probably. We got to the last hole, and it took him about seven to get to a bunker on the green. Then he picked a leaf up right by his ball, in the bunker, which is a two-stroke penalty. Then he was leaning on his sand wedge in the bunker, grounding his club, so there's another two-stroke penalty, so he was 11. And then he hit that one about a foot in front of him in 12, and then he got that on to about 8 feet and made the putt. So he makes his putt, and I say, 'Joe, great putt. Is that a 4?' And he goes, 'Oh, no. Six.' It was really like a 14 or something.
blowing british davis green hal hard hit hitting hole impressed left love open playing practice round walking wind
I was playing a practice round with Davis Love at the British Open and Hal comes walking out to the 17th hole, the wind was blowing hard left to right, ... I hit a 4-iron to the green and Davis hit it on. When we got to the green, Davis said, 'You think Hal was impressed with that?' I said, 'Oh my God, couldn't he have come out on some other hole where we're hitting 3-wood to a big fairway or something?' We laughed.
couple flawless fortunate mistakes paid
I wasn't flawless out there, ... I was just fortunate that Dana made a couple of mistakes and paid for them.
birdie certainly hole looked round turned walk
I won't say it turned my round around, but it certainly helped. It never really looked like I was going to make a 4 on that hole at any point, but to walk away with a birdie was great.
thin vogue wore
I wore visors when they were in vogue -- and I wasn't so thin on top.
champions energy golf guess guys lost start year
I think I lost my golf energy. You can't come out here and go through the motions. These guys are too good. I guess I'm at a crossroads. Right now, I would say I'll play more on the Champions Tour. But if I start to play a little better at the end of the year ... I still like to do this.
expected four good round turned
Four really turned things around. I never expected to make a 4 there. Then the birdies at 14 and 15 turned a good round into a really good round.
few last maybe played pressure problem putting thinking year
I'd been putting too much pressure on my putting thinking it was the problem where maybe it was just one of the problems, ... I've also put pressure on myself this year to play as well as I played the last few years. That probably had something to do with it.
career condensed guess successful
I guess in a condensed version, I would say I think I've had a successful career but I'm not satisfied,
