I look at Baron as the Steve Nash factor. Phoenix had all these guys, but they weren't winning. They got Steve Nash and they won. I look at Baron as that missing piece that helps us win.
I have to do a better job of defending guys like that. I've got a challenge (tonight) with (Boston Celtics guard) Paul (Pierce). I've got to do a better job on both ends of the court.
I had to do something for the kids.
It was huge. I get the shot off and it was a big game, probably the best in my career. To win a game like this was huge for this team. We really needed it.
I fully understand the seriousness of the implications and I accept the penalty imposed by the commissioner. I'm glad to have these issues addressed and behind me.
He's one of the top players in this league. To get a guy like that . . .
I didn't realize how far I was from the basket when I got the ball. I was surprised that I was that wide open.
He played good defense on me but that wasn't the reason I couldn't shoot. I'm not discrediting that he played good defense, but I had a bad shooting night.
He's an all-star and all-stars make big plays. We played some good defense.
He's not afraid to make mistakes. It's amazing how he gets offensive rebounds. The moment he steps on the court he's playing hard.
I'm glad (Allen) wasn't in the lineup, that makes my job easier. It makes the team's job easier to go out there playing ball, so anytime you get a guy down like that, you've got to take advantage of it.
I'm not going to let anybody come and take my spot. He's going to come in and challenge me? Yeah, you challenge. But nobody's going to take my spot.
If you want to be in a position to be a playoff team, you can't play that type of ball,
I mean, he's been in the league nine years and he's never had it before where a point guard can pass the ball like that.
