He was always happy-go-lucky, even when he came down with glaucoma. He enjoyed the game, every minute of it. That's why he played every game like it was his last.

Where I came from, they were passionate about baseball. We probably didn't draw as many (fans), but through thick and thin it was like 'Let's go. We can do it. We can do it. We know you can do it.' This is something I have to get used to and I'm blocking it out as much as I can. It is what it is.

You learn that that's just kind of the way it is. That's part of baseball. It's a part of any sport, actually. You just have to go out and play and whatever happens, happens.

I wasn't malicious. I just stated my opinion. So, if they boo even more, then that's what they do. It's not a big deal. I just made a statement.
ball couple dirt miss
Yeah, the whole at-bat I wanted him to get the ball up. He got a couple down in the dirt and I went after them. Then he got one up and I didn't miss it.

You know what, I don't even concentrate on it. We won. That's all I'm concerned about.

We haven't been scoring a lot of runs lately. I was stuck in no-man's land. You look back on it, and it's a dumb decision, but I play hard. I play aggressive.

We were all concerned. We would tell him. But he enjoyed life. He enjoyed the size he was. That's who he was.

We were all concerned. A man's going to be a man, a woman's going to be a woman. You can't change what they're going to do unless they want to change. He enjoyed life, enjoyed the size he was. ... You can't do anything about it until he decides to change. Hopefully, this will be a wakeup call.

I know I can play. My biggest thing has always been worrying about what other people think, and I'm going to stop doing that. I'm just going to come over here, have fun and be myself.
