He's had a great offseason. He's worked his butt off. ... I think he's more excited about the offense and how he's being utilized, and it's just all added up to a much more productive offseason. Our anticipation is he's going to be a fine football player for us.

He went through all the (minicamps), and just a few weeks ago he was out here running plays. .... It's always a coaches preference to have everybody for the full time, but it doesn't always work that way, and we feel confident that we'll pick up with what (he's) missed and catch him up.

He had a monster night. I'm not sure how it happened and why it happened, but it was a problem in the game. Any time a guy gets that many sacks, it's a problem.

When he's healthy enough to play, he's going to play. So what I want to see is whether or not he's healthy enough to play.

My thinking is we have two young quarterbacks that have been taking all the reps that are getting better. They represent the future for the Jaguars.

I just don't know what to make of the comments he's always making about Jacksonville. He either has a buddy here he's talking to through code or something. I'm not sure I get it. He's been a successful coach for a long time. I would think it would be out of character for a guy who has been a successful coach for as long as he has. It almost sounds desperate.

Any time you get five turnovers and don't have any yourself, it's pretty tough not to get it done.

fred gate hope involved past pleased quicker start training volume year
I'm very pleased with where he is now and with what he's done in training camp, the volume of work, the running, the catching, the being part of the offense, he's been much more involved this year than he has the past two years. We hope to have a quicker start out of the gate for Fred Taylor.
