against assignment australia carry champions good great home next success tempo tough work
It would be really great if we can carry the tempo into our next home assignment against Australia next month. We know how tough it would be against the World champions but if we can carry the good work to the next series, I think it will be a real success for us.
expect frame positive
So, we are going out there in a positive frame of mind, and we expect to do something good.
against agree compared definitely learned matches previous time untrue
Compared to our previous matches against Sri Lanka, we have definitely made significant improvements in the first Test. I must say this time we were more competitive than the past. It is untrue that we have not learned from our mistakes. But I agree that we need a lot more to do in the long run.
against australia beat confidence given side victory
That victory against Australia has given us the confidence that we can beat any side in the world,
lost matter obviously win
Obviously we will try to win the match...no matter we have lost the first two matches.
bad consider innings pick poor quickly record remaining second target thinking wickets
No doubt, our first target would be to pick up the remaining wickets quickly but we are already thinking about the second innings. I think the second day was not too bad for us if you consider our first innings total. But all know that we have a very poor record in second innings.
against expected impression nobody series team test win
When we started the series against Sri Lanka, nobody expected us to win anything. But after the first Test (against Australia) everyone had a different impression about us. I think this is our team achievement.
best call confident home impression miss players senior strong
We are confident to make something different on our home soil. We will try our best to make an impression in the first game. Sri Lanka may miss some senior players but they are still very strong opponents. One can't call them a second-string side.
habit losing wickets
We need to do better in batting, ... We have been losing too many wickets with the new ball. If we get out of that habit we should be okay.
afraid class cricket dominating fully great motivation players respect test
True, they have lot of world class players and they have been dominating Test cricket for many years. We respect them fully but we are not afraid at all. We've nothing to lose, everything to gain. It will be a great motivation for us.
adam batting bit bottom corner deal double game great inevitably involved learn lee line second seen tail team test took work
We have seen how someone in their team inevitably contributes when needed. Our tail can learn a great deal from Gillespie. Not only his double century, he was also involved in a big partnership with Adam Gilchrist in the first Test when they were in a corner and Brett Lee also took the game away from us with his batting in the second innings. The bottom line is we all need to work a bit more harder.
against difficult plan successful team
I think it is difficult to make any plan successful against a team like Australia. We will better concentrate on our own game.
everybody fails great hardly lies looks mental mind plays problem rather technique
He looks as if he is in need of a rest. I think there is hardly any problem in his technique and the problem rather lies in mental strength. When he plays he looks like any other great batsman in the world but then he fails to live up to the expectation. And everybody should mind that he is just 21 years old.
champions fifth moral push satisfied
I am satisfied we could push the world champions into a fifth day and that was our moral victory.
