We are not ready to play Atlanta (in the season-opener on Sept. 12) yet, but we have around two weeks to prepare. We have a lot of room to improve. We had some mistakes out there, so we are going to come in and get better next week.

Todd is one of the closest friends I have on the team, and I feel bad for him for all the work he's put in this offseason. But injuries take place in this game, and the team has to get in there. Somebody has to step up and make plays.

It's a difference but it's not a difference where I need to change what I do, ... I can't do what he did, and I'm not going to try to do what he did. I'm just going to go out and play my game and do what I'm capable of doing, and I think the other guys are going to do the same. We're going to make it work.

We had a few chances at it, but we let it slip away from us. We came out a little tight early, but that comes with playing at Petal. They're awfully tough here. But once we saw we could score some runs, we relaxed and hit the ball well.

We're not a one-man show. We all want to win, and T.O. is on the team. He might have wanted to win this game a lot, but I think we all did.
