expected head move pace run shows struggled tired win
I expected him to run 1:09 and change, but I didn't expect to win by a head and a neck. He didn't go down in my mind, but he didn't move up either. I don't think we can take anything from this race. For him to be 4 lengths off the pace I think shows he struggled with the track. He was tired in the winner's circle.

I think that the record, the undefeated part, horses win two in a row, three in a row, but now, you want to keep that record together. You know you are probably not going to do it, but you sure want to.

I thought we had to win today and win decisively to go to the Breeders' Cup. If the horse is doing well, I think we owe it to him to give him the chance. I'd say it's 75-25 that we would go, and the only way we wouldn't go is if the horse wasn't doing well.

I think there's all kinds of possibilities. It probably depends on how some of the other races play out. Two or three spots he could land in, and it's possible he could wind up with nothing. If we win, we'll put it on everybody else. I don't have a vote; I've got enough on my hands.

I want to win this race really badly. You don't want to set yourself up for a big letdown. You do your work, and the horse runs as good as he can. If it's good enough, it's good enough. If it's not, you guys will be talking to somebody else Sunday morning.

It was too much of everything, and I knew it that morning, but it was too late to do anything about it. He was giving out all kinds of bad signs. He was nervous and tried to kick the wall when he was being shod. He was tired of it all, and he didn't want to go over there.

They are all great to me. If you had to pick one out, yeah, it's this one just because of the grade. But I don't know. The race at Belmont Park was pretty exciting. He really showed his courage and his talent that day.

Everything went perfect. If people don't think this is a good horse by now, they haven't been paying attention.
against california chances couple months older rather train
I think his chances of being at Belmont a couple of months from now are very good. I would rather train him up to the Breeders' Cup. If I can find something in California against older horses, that would be a possibility.
