ability admire came forgot great love particular rise rough saw tremendous
The things that I admire him most for are his competitiveness and an ability to rise out of a rough neighborhood. The thing we all saw about him was his great love for his fans, in particular children. He just had a tremendous personality. He never forgot where he came from.
hindsight
In hindsight I would have done a lot of things differently.
almost hard left stuff together worked
It was hard for me. He worked with me every day. We did a lot of stuff together ... I almost left the K-9 program.
advantage convince
We will try to convince him that it would be to his advantage to play with us.
easier game next
It would be easier if we could just say it's one thing. One game it's the defense, the next game it's the offense, another game it's something else.
ability career fred left team wants win
The way we're going to go about this is it's going to be like schooling. He's just left one career and we want him to have a long-term career with this organization. As Fred said, he wants to have a very important part of that, make us a team that we would all like, and that is a team that has the ability to win a championship.
case certainly coming presented pushed trade
That's not coming from us; I certainly haven't pushed it. Nobody's presented me with a case (for a trade). That's not something I think we need to do.
best deny good guys help stuff supporting tough trying until year
You wouldn't even think about it until the year was over. At this point, I'm supporting him and trying to help him as best we can. I still think he's a good coach. We've had a tough season. He's learning. I don't think he would deny that, with young guys and stuff like that.
below close felt looking number player teams won
If we had won a number of those close games, we probably wouldn't have thought about doing the trade. Looking at the results, which were below our expectations, we felt we had to do something. Wally was a player other teams wanted.
I don't know. We'll see if we get to that point.
stand
I do not see that as a possibility. As I stand here, I just don't see a possibility that makes sense.
I do not see that as a possibility.
came problem work
I came to work right away. That's the problem with those competitive guys.
surprised valued
I have always valued his input. He has not surprised me with any of his comments.
