Gene DeFilippo is an American sports executive and former college athletics administrator. He served as the athletic director at the University of South Carolina–Spartanburg—now known as the University of South Carolina Upstate—from 1984 to 1987, at Villanova University from 1993 to 1997, and at Boston College from 1997 to 2012. We?re very fortunate to have Jerry York here at BC and we?re all very excited that he will continue to lead our hockey program. Jerry is the best hockey coach in the country and the young people that play for Jerry become the very best student-athletes they can be.

It is a problem but it is a good problem. And it is going to become more so as we continue to be good. We are going to have to get more seats, do something with the traffic and parking. It is a learning process for all of us and we keep learning more as we go through it. This definitely takes things to a new level. It's one thing about the ACC -- we never had problems like this in the Big East.

We are very fortunate to have a man of Al Skinner's character and class leading our basketball program, especially as we head into the Atlantic Coast Conference.

That's the hard part. With the distance they did us a disadvantage. Here we are getting home (last night) at 7:30 at night, and we are going to have to leave (tomorrow). That's tough to turn around with cheerleaders and players and coaches and the bands, the pep bands and the administration.
