Eugene T. Chizikis an American football coach and former player. He was named defensive coordinator at North Carolina in January 2015. He was the head coach of the Auburn football team from 2009 until the end of the 2012 season. Chizik's 2010 Auburn Tigers football team completed a 14–0 season with a victory over Oregon in the BCS National Championship Game. You've got to stop the run, be physical and then be solid in your coverage issues. You can't let a team that throws it 70 times a game make you into a finesse team. You have to be physical.

The thing that I'm the most proud of is that we never stopped working. We were patient. We never saw anybody get rattled.

I was very proud of the way everybody played. I thought we tried to be more aggressive than we were last week. They were ready to play this game.

I think he one-upped me this year. It's really tremendous. I can't think of a more deserving guy, obviously, and he's not just a great football coach but a great man. I'm just really excited to be able to pass the torch to him because he's just that deserving.

We never, ever stop working. When we get down to the red zone, it's not easy for people to score. You never see anybody get rattled when things aren't going good, and there was a period of time (against Texas Tech) when things weren't going good. You never hear anybody say anything on the sideline. They understand what they have to do. We regroup, we adjust and we go back out there and play.

Bush has an element of power to go along with his speed. One of our concerns is over-pursuing against him so that when he cuts back, there's nobody there to stop him.

I feel very blessed and very fortunate to have been able to make the move to the University of Texas and continue a streak. You know, it's been fun. It's not something I think about it a whole bunch. Obviously, it would be nice to continue that streak, I can assure you (of) that.

What I've found is that a lot of times, if a guy is that good that you're spying on him, he's probably better than your spy guy. We've got to have 11 guys spying on him.

What separates him from a lot of the good ones, and why he's a great one, is he's got the mental part of the game as well as anyone I've ever been around. He does a great job of making sure everybody is in line.

It's all about points allowed. They were averaging 54. They scored 17 today. Now that doesn't mean we're perfect . . .

I told them we're going to be physical. If you're not willing to be that or can't be that, you won't be playing. They bought into that. There's no other way to play defense the way we see it.

It's going to be a great challenge. ... I may do this another 20 years and never get (another) shot to do this, and they may play another 20 years and not get a shot at doing this again. ... I think it's something you hold onto for a long time.

They are going to move the ball, and they are going to hit a big play on you here and there. Everything at that point comes down to how you respond. You can't let the flames become fires.
