Eugene T. Chizikis an American football coach and former player. He was named defensive coordinator at North Carolina in January 2015. He was the head coach of the Auburn football team from 2009 until the end of the 2012 season. Chizik's 2010 Auburn Tigers football team completed a 14–0 season with a victory over Oregon in the BCS National Championship Game. It's been fun, especially with these guys. This football team is different. They're just different. They've got something about them. They've got some chemistry and some great things that it's hard to pinpoint the things that make champions, but this team has it in them.

What we're really pleased with is that they played hard. We tried to execute our defense, but we played a lot of base defense. Obviously, we have a lot of work to do on some things. I just know what an awesome feeling it is for him. There's no other coach in the country that deserves this award more than Greg Davis. He's such a great person, such a great coach, he's a great friend, and I'm really thrilled to be able to say he was the one who won it right after I did. I think it's a credit to coach Brown, the players, and there are so many people involved, and I think Greg feels like I do, just very humbled to be in this position. It couldn't happen to a better guy.
