It's very tough, believe me. People say, 'Oh, you're getting paid big bucks, you just need to go play.' But you don't understand this team has been on an emotional high for the last month.

It's something I'm not used to, for sure, it's a different feeling. There's no doubt it's been tough. Hopefully next year when we're fighting for a better position in the standings, we'll think about how we felt the last few weeks and that will encourage us to be a little better.

We were looking at the camp roster during our (team) meeting (the other) night, Joe and I, and I didn't see many guys (born) in the 1960s. There were some '80s, some '85s. You realize how much older you are, but we're definitely excited to be here and be part of this team.

We wished it would have been a more meaningful game. We were looking at that game a long time ago wondering if it would mean something. Now it looks like it's going to mean ninth, 10th, 11th place, unfortunately.

The puck drops, you got to play your game. It's still tough playing against your buddies, guys that you went to war with those years here in Toronto. It was a tough game for me to play. I'm happy it's over. I'm not happy we lost.

Teams don't like to invoke those clauses. The only effort at that in my modern memory was shot down on a fairly technical procedural basis.

We're different guys, for sure. I'm a little more bullheaded, probably, and have to be because of the style of game I play. My game's a little different than Joe's. Joe is a real good face-off man and a good shot. Me, I spend a little more time in the traffic banging bodies and creating a little bit of havoc.
We've made strides. We still have a long way to go but we are getting better.
exciting
We made it exciting for the fans, that's for sure. But we don't want to do that very often.
