ball chance complexion exactly game ground hit left needed runners runs score scoring support table three tie
He did exactly what we needed him to do but we didn't support him on offense. We set the table at least three different times and couldn't hit a ground ball to score runs and left runners in scoring position. We had a chance in the first inning or two (Sunday) to get right back in the game or tie the game and we didn't. The complexion of the game is different if it is tied.
base beat guys job left scoring
We just didn't do our job on offense. We left too many guys on base and we didn't come through when we had scoring chances, and we got beat because of it.
bit pressure
I just want to take a little bit of pressure off Ryan. We need to get him squared away.
start steve
Steve will get the start (today) and then we'll just see from there.
blowing friday game guys huge hung
It was huge for us. After blowing a game on Friday and then getting boat-raced on Saturday, these guys showed some character. They hung in there and they bounced back.
chance earlier encouraged fought hurt plays simple win
I'm encouraged that we fought back and had a chance to win the game. (But) there were two simple plays that we didn't make earlier that hurt us.
definitely guy hat quality tip
I've got to tip my hat to Lacy because he definitely pitched well today. He is a guy they look to to give them a lot of quality innings, and he was really competitive today.
chance close game great job leaving needed quality today
It was a close game and he needed to do his job like he did today to give us a chance to win. He did a great job going seven-plus inning and leaving with the lead. That is a quality start.
lay move plays runners team together
This team has to do things together more than any team in the past. We have to do the little things that make a difference. We have to move runners over and lay down bunts and make plays on defense. This team is more like that than any team here ever before.
game good groove hard job mistakes overcome picking played team worst
This team has played hard (in) every game we have played in. We have been our own worst enemy. Today, we overcome some mistakes that we made and did a good job of picking one another up. That is how you get back in a groove -- by making up for mistakes by doing good things right after it.
came
Dorsett came in and pitched us out of jam.
plays
And you shouldn't say many because it plays pretty true.
far fence happen rather side
We've had that happen to us a lot so far this season. I'd rather be on this side of the fence than that one.
against depth level pitching staff successful talent talking teams
We've had teams that have been successful against them. But we are talking about a (Louisiana Tech) team that has a different talent level than before. They have depth in the pitching staff and some experience.
