We have guys that really want to go out and play and they want to win. And they work really hard, so if we put forth our best effort I think we'll be fine.
He was playing really well when he got hurt. You miss a whole year, guys catch up to you, and pass you by.... I tell guys all the time, keep working hard, you never know what's going to happen.
In times like these, guys try too hard to make routine plays. Calm down. Make those. And let your pitching and defense carry you.
It's going to be good to get the game back to the way it should be. I think the guys who replaced those guys did the best job they could under the circumstances, but I think it was probably more unfair to the players to have this happen. It's always good when the game comes back to where it should be.
It's a different ball game when the season starts. It's for real, and it counts. The guys in spring training don't feel the same rush as they do during the regular season.
The thinking (in spring training was) they were going to give us a better blend of veteran guys to support the younger guys.
Big hit, big hit, real big hit. ... We floated after that. Having a three-run lead after five is big. And to hold on and win like we did is pretty awesome.
I think he would probably term (his outing) as inconsistent. I don't think he's happy with the (three) walks and the deep counts. But being able to survive and keep the lead, I think he'll settle for that.
I hate to speculate in too many ways. It depends on what the major league club does.
For this hurricane to have come in and for it to affect the market that fast, it's a joke.
He's got to be a real lowlife to do something like that at a time like this. It's the Louisiana way of doing business, I guess. But there is a quiet majority now that's sick and tired of this. People are fed up with these crooks.
He's doing very well; he's still with the big league club right now. But I like him as an all-around player.
He doesn't have a lot of range, but he's solid in catching the ball if he gets his glove on it.
We have spoken to Federal Express to be ready to load up everything the day before Oct. 11, which is Tuesday.
