Frank Robinsonis an American former Major League Baseballoutfielder and manager. It's more of a reaction. We need to do something here to get this club going. Are these two moves going to do it? I don't know. But we had to do something. I think it makes us a little better ball club.
We're not going to have the kind of club that's going to just outscore teams. We're going to need good pitching along with timely hits. That's what worked for 90 games last season.
There's a lot of camaraderie on this ball club already. In spring training it's been a good clubhouse. Believing in themselves and playing with excitement, I think that all comes from winning. I think this team has that ability to do that, to come together as a team.
This is a step in the right direction. This sends out a good message to the fans and to the rest of the players that if we feel like a player ... is going to be good for the ball club in the future, we won't be afraid to lock them up.
This is kind of what I would say is an amazing streak, but the club doesn't amaze me because they showed early on that they have the desire, the heart and we hung in there in close ball games, but this has been kind of an unbelievable roll that we're on right now and who knows when it's going to end.
I don't like to play one club that much in spring training. I'll hold something back. I won't let then see my real good stuff.
When a guy is maybe on the lower end of the pain threshold, we have a tendency to maybe be a little critical of him and say what he should do and what he should be able to do. All I know is an individual knows himself and he knows what he is able to handle as far as pain is concerned.

We chose not to give him an MRI. The physicals should include everything.
We certainly know we're going to lose him for the next two to three weeks, that's for sure. And with that type of absence from spring training, there's no way he can open the season.
