He wasn't real sharp today. When he got ahead of hitters, he couldn't finish them off. There were a lot of pitches in the strike zone.
He wasn't real sharp, but he got the job done. He gave us six innings. He kept them off balance tonight.
He was found to have used steroids and he served a 10-day suspension.
He was fine out there. There are tougher plays to come.
He was fine. In his first game, he swung the bat decently and was fine in the field.
He was smiling even then. He had a feeling and I could understand where he was coming from. But since he's been here, he's been an outstanding individual, easy to work with, easy to talk to.
He was moving around good out there on the field. We have no concerns about his knee, but you never know until you get out there.
He's pitching himself into a position where he may not have the chance unless it's in New Orleans. That's what he's doing.
He's pitched two excellent games. Why would we send him back? I like the way he conducts himself, handles himself on the mound. He seems to have excellent composure out there, veteran composure.
He could not push off the mound and he couldn't get his position, ... He was throwing straight up. He couldn't get down and drive toward home plate off of that knee.
He could go out and pitch the same way this year and have a tremendous year because things go his way. This may be his year to get run support.
He didn't have enough. We needed a better performance out of him to have a chance to win the game.
He can throw it at any time and throw it for strikes. It's a very effective pitch for him. I want to learn how he throws it, keep it in mind, maybe teach it to someone else.
He can steal a run for us here and there, put pressure on the defense, take the extra base and put pressure on the defense. That's what we felt he could bring and that's what we were hoping for him to do if he made the ball club.
