stars men thinking
[He] looked up and imagined the hand of God flinging stars like shining dust across the heavens. No. He was wrong to think such pagan thoughts, for God had only to utter a word and it was done. Only man had He shaped with His hands, using the dust He created to form His most precious and amazing creation. Only man was molded and loved into being, the breath of life in his lungs given by God.
mean men rights
Rome tolerated every abominable practice, embraced every foul idea in the name of freedom and the rights of the common man. Citizens no longer carried on deviant behavior in private, but pridefully displayed it in public. It was those with moral values who could no longer freely walk in a public park without having to witness a revolting display. What happened to the public censors who protected the majority of citizenry from moral decadence? Did freedom have to mean abolishing common decency? Did freedom mean anyone could do anything they wanted anytime they wanted, without consequences?
kings heart men

characters life
The goal is to have every character take on a life of his or her own. Sometimes characters will come into the story that I haven't planned.
days job work
Like everyone else, there are days when I don't want to go to work. However, writing is a job like anything else.
I'll often dream about characters before I start writing their stories.
freedom general historical issue market needed worked
I actually worked in the general market for many years writing steamy historical romance, and I had more freedom in the Christian market than I ever did in the general market to write about any issue that I needed to write about.
change jesus lives love
When we love like Jesus does, lives change for the better.

My job is to allow the character to live and breathe - and become as real to the reader as he or she is to me.

I want to see Christian fiction speak to the hard and real issues that tear people's lives apart.

I had been raised in the church, but I wasn't a Christian. I had a lot of head knowledge but no heart knowledge.
book exciting faith favorite love spent statement year
My favorite book is 'Redeeming Love.' It was my first as a born-again Christian, my statement of faith, and the most exciting year I've spent writing anything.
