You cannot help people permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves.
activities blocking enjoyable fences life lord people seem
Young people especially sometimes feel that the standards of the Lord are like fences and chains, blocking them from those activities that seem most enjoyable in life.
curtain deprived drop freedom good great iron nations people prized stroke watched witness written
I am a witness to nations and people deprived of their freedom. I was there. I watched that great Iron Curtain drop around nations which formerly had prized their freedom - good people. I was aghast as these were written off by the stroke of a pen.
people heaven coercion
Freedom is an eternal principle. Heaven disapproves of force, coercion and intimidation. Only a free people can be truly a happy people.
enthusiasm-for-life people age
Young people, you need the wisdom of age, just as some of us older ones need your enthusiasm for life.
government people defense
By deriving it's just powers from the governed, government becomes primarily a mechanism for defense against bodily harm, theft, and involuntary servitude. It cannot claim the power to redistribute money or property nor to force reluctant citizens to perform acts of charity against their will. Government is created by the people. No individual possesses the power to take another's wealth or to force others to do good, so no government has the the right to do such things either. The creature cannot exceed the creator.
people springtime youth
Satan knows that youth is the springtime of life when all things are new and young people are most vulnerable.
lds people essentials
The revelation to store food may be as essential to our temporal salvation today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of Noah.
pride cutting people
Some prideful people are not so concerned as to whether their wages meet their needs as they are that their wages are more than someone else’s. Their reward is being a cut above the rest. This is the enmity of pride.
should-have people water
From the standpoint of food production, storage, handling, and the Lord’s counsel, wheat should have high priority. Water, of course, is essential. Other basics could include honey or sugar, legumes, milk products or substitutes, and salt or its equivalent. The revelation to store food may be as essential to our temporal salvation today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of Noah.
people mind garbage
Do not make your mind a dumping ground for other people's garbage.
people firsts modern
Every member of the priesthood should understand the divine plan designed by the Lord to raise up the first free people in modern times.
home rocks people
Now, what of the entertainment that is available to our young people today? Are you being undermined right in your homes through your television, radio, slick magazines, and rock music records?
heart worry people
I have often said one of the greatest secrets of missionary work is work! If a missionary works, he will get the Spirit; if he gets the Spirit, he will teach by the Spirit; and if he teaches by the Spirit, he will touch the hearts of the people and he will be happy. There will be no homesickness, no worrying about families, for all time and talents and interests are centered on the work of the ministry. Work, work, work-there is no satisfactory substitute, especially in missionary work.
