When you've got corners that are not starters you want to go after them, ... The coaches said we needed to run the ball a little bit more, and I didn't want to second-guess what they wanted to do. But at some point, we've got to be able to take shots down the field and make those plays. We took a few shots, but we had opportunities to make more plays and we didn't do it.

Some people are going to like it and agree with me and some people are not going to like it and disagree. But you got to say what's on your mind. I think people respect somebody who's more honest than somebody that's just going to . . . blow everybody off.

Lawyer knows just about any defense. The guy's extremely smart. He knows exactly what's happening before it happens, so I think he'll be a great asset.

He keeps plays alive. When you run your routes now, you're not dead. At anytime, he can buy more time for you to get open, even when the play breaks downs.

He knows a lot of veterans want to win now. The window is closing on the guys who have played 10, 13, 14 years. For me, every game counts now.

Anytime you get a win, you never know what's going to happen. We could get on a winning streak and wind up in the Super Bowl. As a veteran player, you know those things can happen.

They've got to make the ultimate decision, ... At some point, you've got to decide whether you're going to leave J.P. in there and let him learn, or put Kelly in there and see what happens. It's up to management and coaches to make that decision. Hopefully, they'll make it easier on a lot of us.

I'm trying to keep a level head. Back four or five years ago, I probably would've lost it by now. But I told coach I'm going to stick with it and see what happens. But there comes a point where we have to win some games, we have to make plays.
