coaching evident floor good played question seeing time together
They've played together a long time now, which is pretty incredible. There's no question they have a sense of each other's games. It's evident in coaching them and seeing the things they do on the floor how good they are together.
everybody factor fatigue gave great led
They led us to victory. Everybody else gave great support, did their jobs. Fatigue wasn't a factor at all.
happy progress
I'm happy about the progress of our team.
community embrace emotional happy means people slow
I'm emotional right now. It means a lot. This community has been slow to embrace women's sports. I'm happy for our kids. They know people care.
game theirs
It was a game of runs. They had theirs and we made ours. And in the end, we had it.
cheat difficult game great inside support team
That's always the most difficult thing, when you have a team that you don't have a place to cheat (defensively). They have a great inside game and support it with great shooters.
best coach deal excuse highest kids love provided ride span three utah winning
Excuse me if I cry, OK? Here's the deal with all three of those kids . . . what we've done in this four-year span is actually the best four-year span we've ever had. I coach at Utah because of the love I have for a lot of things about being here. It's not about one thing. It's not about winning at the highest level. I love being here, and they provided that kind of ride for me.
aggressive arizona extend ourselves state willing
Arizona State is going to be willing to go to the rim and be aggressive. We have to be aggressive as well. We're not going to extend ourselves on defense. Offensively, we have to do what we can and take what they give us.
rest
They are warriors. We give them their rest in between games.
ball beholden game great handle inside players points support type weakness
They are very well-rounded. They have a great inside game and support it with great shooters, players who can handle the ball with the mid-range game. They don't have a weakness offensively. That's why you see them averaging 83 points a game. When you have that kind of versatility, you're never beholden into one place, one position, one style, or any type of shot.
simple
This team's been really resilient. They've never panicked. It's really as simple as that.
coming great nice people program saying support
We've had some nice e-mails coming in to our program from their fans, just saying they're Lobo people but they're going to be here to support us. And that's fair. That's a great response.
comparing people playing plays thinking until
Everybody, in the end, plays the same games. So really, until it's over, there's no comparing where people are at. We have kind of done well just playing from behind. So, I think we'll just keep thinking of it in those terms.
chip enthusiasm love thinking
There's no chip on our shoulder. We really love to play. We try to keep thinking in these terms: Play for each other. Play because you love it. When you play, show the enthusiasm you have for the game.
