ball defend explained key playing push supposed
I've explained to him to get in there and push the ball and defend and do what he's supposed to do when he's starting. The key is getting that opportunity, because Marcus is playing so well right now.
addition both brings defend defense experience gain great guard losing nba opportunity player playing point shooting team tough veteran
It's tough losing a veteran player like Sam, but this was a great opportunity for us to gain a good, young combo guard. Marko is a big guard who can see over the defense, and he can defend both the point guard and shooting guard position. We feel we've really upgraded our defense and our team with the addition of Marko. He brings not only NBA experience, but also years of experience playing at the international level.
came cut defender defense heart lays passing player plays polished raw remember rookie smart soul surprises team watched work year
I watched him work out right before his rookie year and I remember how raw he was when he first came out of Alabama. Just to see him now, how polished of a player he is, how smart a defender he is, how he plays the passing lane, how he kind of lays in the cut and surprises the defense - he's just come such a long way and he's the heart and soul of his team with the way he plays.
addition both defend defense guard point shooting team
Marko is a big guard who can see over the defense, and he can defend both the point guard and shooting guard position. We feel we've really upgraded our defense and our team with the addition of Marko.
against create defender defensive gets offensive post score stick tough
He can score offensively, but No. 1 he's a defensive stopper. You can stick him on 1s, 2s, 3s and some 4s and say, 'OK, let's go to work.' That overshadows his offensive game. Once he gets a defender going to the basket, he's tough to guard. And he can post up against some and create mismatches because he's so strong.
great key name sure value
I'm sure his name will come up. He has great value around the league. But I like him. He was the key to the trade, I think.
coach takes understand
I'm very encouraged. If you put a 15-year coach in this situation, they probably wouldn't be as patient, but I understand that ... it takes time.
continue positive speed work
I like our group. The positive energy, the speed and quickness. We've got to continue to work and get better.
cannot lightly
It's something you cannot take lightly at all. And I don't take it lightly.
eddie excellent great griffin job paint playing protecting
Eddie Griffin had a great game. He did an excellent job of protecting the paint and playing big.
fun losing run sports
Everybody's going to make a run and when they did, we didn't collapse. It's not fun losing the lead, but the important thing is that we didn't give in.
defense paint playing points
That is unforgivable. If you give 50 points in the paint to a team, you are not playing very much defense and that is the most disappointing thing of all.
exploited giving means paint playing points tonight
That is unforgivable. Giving up 50 points in the paint means you're not playing much defense. That's what was most disappointing. If you get 100 points, that's enough to win. Tonight everyone was a culprit. They exploited all of us.
laughed laughter walked
They would have laughed if you walked in with long shorts.
