We had opportunities offensively to end the game and we just couldn't do it. You just can't let them hang around.
With the weapons they have, we know we're going to have to score points, ... You never know exactly how these games are going to go, but it would be a very, very strange scenario for this to be a 9-6 game.
You keep hearing everybody wants a more mobile quarterback, ... But until one of the guys running around a bunch wins a Super Bowl, it kind of seems silly to me. Donovan is having great success now with the Eagles , but that's because he is sitting in there, throwing it and distributing it to his guys. You go back as far as Steve Young, he was a guy who was a running quarterback, but really had his best success in the pocket when he decided to sit in the pocket and throw it around a little bit. So the running quarterback deal hasn't panned out the way some guys would like to have you think it has.
He's staying in the pocket and throwing the long pass, ... This a big-play team all of a sudden.
He's starting to look like the guy we saw at the beginning of the season. I think he's getting back in the mix. As we go forward, you'll see him more involved.
Hopefully, when Julius gets back, it's going to give us a good 1-2 punch.
I don't really get a sense from him at all. I have said all along his energy throughout the season and his energy level at the end of the year does not lead me to believe that he's too tired or too old or whatever to continue to do this.
By 'slowest,' do you mean it took me longer than any of the other nine to reach 40,000 yards?
But, ultimately, when it comes right down to it, I knew what was going on. ... Any speculation that my skills had dropped off is just not correct.
Hopefully before things get real bad, a team gets built around you and you're able to have some success. That's what happened with me in my second year. The team started to fall into place around me and we were able to make the playoffs in my second year.
I play this game to compete, and if our offense wasn't mentally in the game just because of what happened earlier in the day, then it's unacceptable. Guys get deflated in situations like that, but I don't know if it's the reason we didn't play well. We would have liked to have finished on a good note but didn't do it.
I'm disappointed to see Larry go. Playing with Larry was a unique experience because he was by far the strongest guy I ever played with.
I haven't changed one bit, ... What I've got is ... guys that are giving me time to throw the ball.
If there's a more valuable player in the league to his team than Troy Brown, I don't know who it would be,
