[Barack Obama] will spend long periods of time explaining to people why he won't use it. At the end of the explanation, nobody knows why he still won't use it because the explanation is no good. And I mean, honestly we have a president that in my opinion really doesn't know what he's doing.
We have a president [Barack Obama] that won't use the term radical Islamic terrorism, won't use it.
We will build our military forces to a level that will be, I believe, stronger than ever before if I become president of the United States.
We have to go to those countries and we have to ask them to make contributions that are greater than the contributions they're making right now. You know, we're gonna protect them. We're gonna remain loyal to them. But at the same time, it's a two-way street. They have to help us also.
We're spending on numerous countries, very substantial countries. You know the countries we're talking about. But we're defending them for a fraction of the cost.
We spend a lot of money on protecting other countries. And yet, those other countries aren't paying nearly what it costs us for that protection. Where - they're getting one of the great bargains of all time.
And whereas [Donald] Trump let two or three hanging curveballs go by, [Mike] Pence will not, unless they have a strategy to let them go by.
I think that [Mike] Pence is entirely capable of doing that. I think he's willing to do it. I don't know what their strategery is on this. I would hope there aren't any - [Hillary Clinton] is the nominee, for crying out loud. She is the opposition. She is who we go after.
There's a whole lot of potential here [in vice-president candidates debates]. But it's not going to be a substitute for [Donald] Trump picking up the pace, the slack himself. It's not going to be a substitute for that.
Here we have perhaps in Mike Pence someone uniquely capable of explaining [Donald] Trump and being Trump and explaining for people who Trump is and what he is. And defending against whatever predictable insults and assaults on Trump that [Tim] Kaine comes up with.
Traditionally vice presidential debates don't move the needle one way or the other. They have largely been irrelevant and inconsequential.
I was against the war in Iraq. The record shows that I'm right. When I did an interview with Howard Stern.
Now, you're talking about taking out ISIS. But Hillary Clinton were there, and were secretary of state when it was a little infant. Now it's in over 30 countries. And you're going to stop them? I don't think so.
Secretary Clinton is talking about taking out ISIS. "We will take out ISIS." Well, President Obama and Secretary Clinton created a vacuum the way they got out of Iraq, because they got out - what, they shouldn't have been in, but once they got in, the way they got out was a disaster. And ISIS was formed.
