Right now, we're in a deep hole. We have to find a way to get out of it.
The season was over Christmas Day. This is a new year and we started off a new season today.
I don't even care about that. We can't get into what somebody else is doing. That's their problems over there. We don't even know the situation to get involved over there. I know guys over there, I know Fred Smoot, Moe Williams, but I don't talk to them on a day-to-day basis so I don't care what goes on in the Minnesota locker room.
No one knows what the future holds right now. He's a great friend of mine, as well as a player and partner. I'm just hoping that he comes back for another year. If he doesn't, I wish the best for him.
I didn't have a problem with what he was doing, ... I told him with the year he had I probably would have done the same thing.
Maybe this is the turnaround right here. I'm hoping it's just a turnaround for us. I'm hoping every other team still struggles.
We are not familiar with losing, and that is one thing we stress in this locker room: Dont get familiar with losing, because we never lose games here. I think a lot of guys know that, and they know the tradition behind the Green Bay Packers, so it is time for us to get on this road and start winning games.
In my final years in Green Bay, when I wasn't getting the ball, people would ask me why I never complained. 'Because these guys are my family,' I would say. 'I'm not selfish. It's not about me. It's about these guys, my family, and winning championships together.
It took me 13 years to win a Super Bowl. But it only took me one season to win a 'mirror ball.'
Everywhere I go now, people are like, 'That's the guy from 'Dancing With the Stars!'' It's pretty good that you're not just a football player but you're in the entertainment world.
I play in front of 70,000 fans week in and week out, and I may drop the ball in practice, I may run the ball the wrong way, but once it's game time, it's game on.
Stars do not struggle to shine, rivers do not struggle to flow, and you will never struggle to excel in life because of the power of your passion.
I was so raw I didn't know about the Lambeau Leap-a Packer player celebrates catching a touchdown by leaping into the stands. It was started by Leroy Butler years before and has been copied by players all over the league. Don't be fooled, though. The only legitimate Lambeau Leap is celebrated by a Packer at Lambeau Field.
It's a big loss. He's a star running back.
