abandon against approach balanced best came football jets mean means remain run running team
For the most part, we try to remain a balanced football team. The Jets came in here with one of the best defenses against the run. That doesn't mean we will run successfully Sunday. It means we don't abandon a running approach just because of the team we play.
rather win winning
I'd rather win them. Winning is more fun.
bit injury last night
I feel a little bit better than I did last night about our injury situation.
adds backs field football great holmes kinds league national pressure priest running steps time
I don't want to put so much pressure on him right now as a young player. He will become one of the great running backs in the National Football League just like Priest Holmes did. You become that. But each time he steps on the field he adds credibility to those kinds of credentials.
against anticipate balance bit kept packages practice shutting slow watching
I could just see, from watching practice against our offense, it was going to be a much better defense, ... Did I anticipate shutting out the Jets? No. But I thought we could slow them down a bit because we can all run. They can all run. I think the blitzing packages kept them off balance a little bit.
believe bowl easiest super today trouble whether won
The trouble is today everything is evaluated on whether you won a Super Bowl or not. Believe me, that's not the No. 1 criteria. It's the easiest for those that don't know what they're doing to evaluate.
bowl last played super
You can see why they were in the Super Bowl last year. We played with them a long time, but not long enough.
beat super time
You can see why they're in the Super Bowl. We could play with them for a long time but not long enough to beat them.
beat deserve
You deserve that, buddy. We beat the world champions.
committed example older player totally tremendous worked workouts
You could take every player on our roster and put them through his workouts and they would all play longer. He didn't get older and work less. He got older and worked harder. That's what enabled him to play so long. To me, he's a tremendous example of what you can do if you're totally committed to doing something.
ask guys harder
You can't ask guys to play harder than they did today.
fire good hunt playing pleasing position
If I feel good and the team's playing well and I'm pleasing (owner) Lamar Hunt and Carl, then I'll make a decision. If not, then I don't want to put them in a position to fire me. I'll go on home.
home played
If he played for me, ... he'd be home by now.
against practice watching
I could see, from watching practice against our offense, it was going to be a much better defense.
