against fear team
That's what you fear against a team like that.
coaches exhausted forward goes last players practice quickly seems work
Coaches and players are pretty exhausted by this point, but you never look forward to it. You work so hard, and it seems like it goes so quickly and that last practice is on you, and you want it to keep going. You like being around a team. You like being part of a team.
difference felt hindrance lost meeting problem talking team
I've never felt like it was a hindrance as a coach, I've never felt like it was a problem with a player. Never felt like it made any difference in a meeting. I've never felt like I lost a team in a meeting talking to them.
feeling strong whatever worked
I've always had a strong feeling that they just want to win. For whatever reason, it hasn't worked out for them.
advancing critical third year
This is his third year and the third year is kind of a critical one for a young guy. We need to keep advancing and keep going forward.
available chart contribute depth limited numbers players special teams
It was a numbers thing. Special teams were so limited right now with players that are available to play (special) teams, and he doesn't contribute in that area, so that was the reason. It wasn't really for anything he hadn't done. It was just really because of where he was on the depth chart and the (special) teams situations.
degree deserve judged players point shot
I'd like the players to know that to some degree they won't be judged on what they did. To some point they will. I want them to know they're going to have a shot to show us they deserve to be on the field.
accept best felt friendship interest job players reason reflection staff took
I don't feel like it has any reflection on our friendship to take this job. This is just business. I felt it was in the best interest of our players and our staff for me to accept this job. That was the reason I took it.
believe best bottom create distinct fans hard league line passionate positive sports winner
I believe (the NFL) is the best sports league in the world and it has the most passionate fans. Every place is a little distinct in their passion and when you lose, they're going to let you know. The bottom line for us is working as hard as you can, working together, and working to create a winner again. We do that and the fans will be passionate in a positive way.
business coach family feels gets good happen home ideas likes people perry unique work
Perry has some ideas of people he likes and feels comfortable with, and we're going to look in that direction. I think it will be a win-win for everybody. It's a unique situation, and we feel good about making it work out. It doesn't happen very often in this business that a coach gets to go home and his family gets to go home, too.
high honest kept perry relationship smart touch watched
I have a relationship with Perry from Jacksonville and have kept in touch with him and watched him develop. He's a very smart guy, a very straightforward guy, high energy. I like all those things about him. He's a very honest guy.

fit four guys movement people present teach three whatever
There's always going to be movement in personnel, so your schemes, whatever they are, have to fit your present people but they also need to fit who's going to come in. They can't be so complicated that you need four years to teach it and three or four years for guys to develop.
