We are going to have to come out and play every night to win this regional. We aren't the type of basketball team that can just show up and go through the motions. Right now, we are just like everybody else. You want to put together a good week of basketball and see what happens.

When you look at what we trot out there and you look at our physical stature you'd think, well, I don't know. But we do play awfully well together and we've got some basketball skills; we can pass it, we can shoot it and we try to guard you. When you've won 21 ballgames in January, you've got to be a pretty good team.

The best player is the point guard. He can shoot the 3 and can beat people off the dribble. Inside, the big kid does a very good job around the basket. And, they have a couple of other kids that look like pretty good athletes. They aren't real deep, but those six or seven kids are solid players.

They don't care who gets the points or the star of the game. Their chemistry is unbelievable. They're good friends off the court. It's just a camaraderie type of thing.

This is really, truly a team. Their chemistry is unbelievable. Their camaraderie...they are good friends off the court, most of them. It's just a camaraderie type thing, a chemistry type of thing. It's what you strive for but sometimes you can't always get that accomplished.

Late in the ballgame we did a real good job of attacking their zone.

The first thing we told the kids when we went in was that we hadn't played very well at all and only trailed by two points. We felt like we could take better care of the basketball and felt like we could guard better. ... We felt like we were in pretty good shape.

Even though we never came up with one of those big runs. I thought we made enough of those five and six point spurts to keep a decent cushion.

I thought in the second half, we guarded better than we did in the first half and didn't have as many turnovers. It may have worn them down a little bit. I think our depth probably was a factor in the game also.

We needed to play catch-up, but we could never get that defensive spurt to change the momentum.

We came out in the third quarter and went to work.

Hayden came off the bench and really gave us a nice lift.

Macomb doesn't have a great deal of size. They don't seem to score a lot of points, but they do create a lot of points and scoring chances off their defense. Our scouts were pretty impressed.
bothered free throw
What bothered me was the free throw attempts. We fouled them way too much.
