Derek Leonard Royis a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who is currently playing for Avangard Omsk of the Kontinental Hockey League. Roy has previously played with SC Bern with whom he won the NLA title in 2016. Roy has played in the National Hockey Leaguewith the Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars, Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators and the Edmonton Oilers. I gave him a pass and I saw the goalie slide over, so I figured he might not score so I was getting ready for a pass. Van has great vision. He saw me at the side of the net and made a great play.

It was a great way to bounce back. Whenever you lose like that, and then play two days later, it stays in your mind. So we wanted to get out there and get a win.

There's always emotion when you play the Toronto Maple Leafs. It's a big rivalry and they bring their crowd with them and it's a good game every time. I know they're desperate and trying to fight for a playoff spot so they're going to be hungry and we should be ready.

The ceremony before the game, it seemed like the crowd was ready for the game, electrifying. We were trying to give them as much as we can. I thought we got better as the game went on..killed some big penalties there.
