I hit driver and 1-iron to 20 feet and made eagle.

I hit the ball in the fairway a bunch and that certainly helped. I'm feeling confident with the putter. Zach didn't put a whole lot of pressure on me, but he did play solid. I stayed just ahead of him.

I haven't won, but I think I made a lot of progress physically last year. I got to feeling better and better and contending more and more.

I had to start trying to make birdies again coming down the stretch just to get a cushion and I finally got one at No. 16,

I had tears in my eyes. He wanted so bad to play and Jack picked him (as a captain's choice). That gave him a lot of confidence. I'm just thrilled for Freddie. He's one of my best friends and he played great.

If you put the ball in the fairway, there's a few birdie holes out there. But it's a tournament where you know you're going to play four rounds, and you're going to grind it out. ... It's kind of like a mini-major. It plays very tough, and it gets harder as it goes along, and the scores don't seem to get too much lower unless it's weather related.

I don't think it adds up to 7,400 yards. You've got 17 and 18 that are 1,200 yards, and 6 and 7 are 1,000 yards.

I didn't hit enough good iron shots when I had to, and Geoff did. And when he didn't he hit a great pitch or bunker shot, or great putt to stay right in it.

Changing the format is a great idea, having a new product is a great idea, and ending in a playoff is a great idea. We want a hotly contested final end of the season that grabs everyone's attention and people really want to watch.

I don't think anybody of the eight that are left are going to be wishing Tiger was here. You never know who is the hot player, who's the guy with the hot putter. It's still match play.
captains certainly effort fun loss tying
He's got a loss and a tie, and we'd certainly like to get him a win. You see the effort all of these captains have put into it, and we certainly want them to have a win, because it's not a whole lot of fun when you lose. Tying is about the same. S,o hopefully, we can get him a win.
