It always takes longer - there are more processes in a college than any business. Humility is pretty important. Because the (financial) gift won't come through, the class may be smaller than you thought ... trust me, over a decade there will be problems, and there won't be easy answers.

What we oppose is a single, national, high-stakes, one-size-fits-all, uber-outcome exam. The notion of a single exam implies there are national standards, and that implies a national curriculum. Then we are on the way to a centralized Prussian education system.

We are opposed to the use of the Social Security number in tracking students. It will drop like a rock. It will create a central ministry of higher education similar to what the French use. I don't think a single commission member will come out in support of it.
