My parents called themselves progressives. The agenda was a Soviet America...the slogan of the communist party in those days was peace, jobs, democracy. Sound familar? The communist party is the democratic Party.
Everybody knows - but no one wants to say - that the Democratic Party has become the party of special interest bigots and racial dividers. It runs the one-party state that controls public services in every major inner city, including the corrupt and failing school systems in which half the students - mainly African American and Hispanic - are denied a shot at the American dream.
Inside many liberals is a totalitarian screaming to get out. They don't like to have another point of view in the room that they don't squash and the way they try to squash it is by character assassination and name calling.
Cuba's poverty is caused by the crackpot Marxist doctrines imposed by its sociopathic ruler and promoted by half the liberal arts professors on American faculties.
Conservatives, please. Let's not duplicate the manias of the Left as we figure out how to deal with Mr. Obama. He is not exactly the anti-Christ, although a disturbing number of people on the Right are convinced he is.
What the left says sounds very good but, in practice, it works out very badly.
Instead of educating students, these professors are trying to indoctrinate them.
A key to the mentality of the left is that it judges itself by its best intentions, and judges its opponents - America chief among them - by their worst deeds.
I would not be here if I weren't persuaded by 20 years of walking around campuses and seeing this.
My book is fair comment. The criticism I have of professors is that they aren't professional. Some aren't professional in the classroom the ones portrayed in my book...they have an attitude toward the university that it should be their political soap box.
Whole fields have developed. They are ideological fields. They are not academic fields.
If Rodney King had obeyed the orders clearly given and had laid down in a "prone position" on the night of his famous encounter with Los Angeles police, 58 people would be alive today, $16 billion would be circulating in the economy and four dedicated LAPD officers who were working to the book that night would not have been forced to endure two trials (the first had acquitted them) and had their careers destroyed to appease the liberal conscience. But liberals had to make their point.
I regret that the moral smugness, ideological rigidity and marginalized nature of the peace lobby have left the American public without a credible opposition that can reasonably examine the strategic choices that most certainly await us down the road,
Cindy Sheehan is a raving communist and America hater, and that tarnished her reputation a long time ago. She appeals to the ' Michael Moore left.' Most other people are embarrassed by her.
