continued demeanor extremely football good hard improve steven week worked
Steven has had a really good spring. From Day 1, even when we were out there in shorts, his demeanor was what you want in a football player. He has worked extremely hard and has continued to improve every week and every practice.
arm fact feet good proven start
Erik Ainge has played, so he is our No. 1 quarterback as we start the spring. Erik has done some good things at Tennessee, but the fact is we don't have a proven quarterback. He has good enough feet and a good enough arm to play the position. But there is a lot more to it than that.
challenge drives
We need to put 8-10 play drives together. Right now, that's a real challenge for us.
game manage pleased tried
We didn't do very much (on offense). We tried to manage ourselves. For the most part I'm pleased with Erik ? the way he managed the game and his accuracy.
buy happen hundred percent quickly understand unless
What will happen is they'll understand quickly that unless they do buy in they won't be playing. That's a hundred percent on that statement.
kinds people rash
I don't think you make rash judgments. We didn't get a lot of things done. We've got a lot of people playing, (with) all different kinds of combinations in different places. So, we're not doing anything consistently. We've got what we've got.
period position stayed
That's probably the one position that has stayed the same the most over that period of time.
listen patient work
It's going to take a lot of work on his part. He is going to have to be patient and listen to me.
build happened positive progress
It was something to build off of. We've got a long way to go, but there were some positive things than happened out there today.
situations tough whether
You never know in these tough situations whether you are doing the right thing or not.
best college losing low personal player
Just a personal low for me Peyton losing the Heisman after the '97 season. That was a farce, and I will say it's a farce. He was the best player in college football.
body lower tempo
His tempo is so much better. And I thought his lower body was better. Consistency, confidence, all those things are getting better.
ball playing problems solved throw throwing
He's playing at a much better tempo. We've solved a lot of his problems with his footwork, which is making him throw the ball better. He's throwing the ball with more confidence. I like what I'm seeing.
anybody backup certainly competing spring
He is certainly still competing for that backup role. I think Bo had a better spring than just about anybody thought he would. We like some of the things he can give us.
