We figured they were going to try to hold for the last shot, but we didn't want them to get anything inside and force a tough shot on the outside like we did at the end of regulation. Give them credit. They made a heck of a play. Our guys played their hearts out, and I couldn't be more proud of them. Dave was tremendous, but I think all our guys deserve credit tonight. It was a heck of a game, and I have nothing but respect for St. Edward.

Free-throw shooting is a lost art. It's not as good as it once was, and maybe it is because coaches are limited with how much time they can dedicate to free throws in practice and kids don't really work on them on their own as much as they should. Foul shots aren't flashy, but they certainly win games, and we try to stress that to our guys. Especially at tournament time.

The biggest thing which nobody sees is how far he has come as a young man. I remember talking to him as a freshman, and his attitude was a little rough. I don't think he even wanted to be here. But he has made huge strides as a person and a player, and I think that is my greatest sense of pride with Darryl.

There is no pressure on us. The kids are focused, and they are actually looking forward to this challenge. I like that. I mean, no question they know what we're in for and they know how good College Hill is. But we want to just go out and play, have some fun and give an effort.

It is all about effort, and ours was awful. I felt like we were prepared coming in. We just didn't do anything well. It was terrible.
