against decent good halfway incentive playoffs pushed pushing ways win
I've thought about that before. If we had just been halfway decent against L.A., we probably would have pushed it a little farther. But this is good incentive for us right now. One of the ways to make the playoffs is to win your division, and that was something we set out to do right from the start. We've got to keep pushing in that direction.
again discourage game intent played positive pound sure team trying
Put yourself in my shoes. Your team played well and you're trying to make sure you play well again in Game 3. Do you pound it down when it did a lot of positive things? The intent was there, and we don't want to discourage that at all.
against conference result shows stick team top western work
We were up against the top team in the Western Conference and we look at them as a measuring stick for us. We didn't get the result we wanted, but that just shows us that we still have some work to do.
against games human nature tells
We have had some games that have been lopsided against them, so human nature tells you that it's in the back of your mind.
advantage against came game mental plan pushing soft team
We're going against a team where the whole game plan going in was to take advantage of our turnovers and soft mental play. We were pushing to take that mental play out of the equation, but there were too many times it came into it.
against games known league played rest starting tough
They've always played tough games against us, so we've known about them for a while. Now the rest of the league is starting to find out.
against capitalize chances fluke games gone gotten played teams timely
I think we've gotten some timely goals, and the pucks have gone in for us. I don't know, I think we've played better games against other teams and not scored as many. I think it's a fluke thing that we've been able to capitalize on as many chances as we have.
against best guard hungry last meet point round team
If we say we're all right and meet a team in the first round that's been hungry for the last month, that's a problem. We'll do our best to guard against that. At no point are we going to say we're going to back off.
adapted against came guys loved office rules seems studied training
He was one of the first guys in my office when the new rules came out in training camp. 'What can I do and what can't I do?' It seems like all the rules were going against guys like him. I loved his attitude. He came in and addressed it right away and asked, 'How am I going to play these situations?' He studied it and has adapted very well.
against period start third
I'm disappointed we didn't play well from the start and do what we did in the third period for the whole game. We'll have to play a lot better against Ottawa.
follow good grind hit people plays puck seemed
The puck seemed to follow him around. He was always on the puck and making good plays. He's not going to hit a lot of people or grind you up. But he makes good plays under pressure.
good nice period rewarded team third together wrapped
We got rewarded for the good things we've been doing. It was nice to see the team come together a little bit. The third period kind of wrapped it all up.
behind provide since talked training valuable
The shootout is going to provide very valuable points. If you don't take them seriously, you're going to be behind the game. We've talked about that since Day 1 of training camp.
both bringing club continue continued cup deal entire excited forward goal great moves provide pursue remain stability staff stanley success together ultimate
These moves will provide the club a great deal of stability as we continue to pursue our ultimate goal of bringing the Stanley Cup back to Dallas. I'm excited that the entire staff will remain together and we look forward to continued success both on and off the ice.
