David Michael "Dave" Navarrois an American guitarist, singer-songwriter, and actor. He is best known as a founding member of the alternative rock band Jane's Addictionand as a former member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He also released one solo album Trust No One. Navarro has also been a member of the Jane's Addiction spin-off bands, Deconstruction and The Panic Channel. My skin is my canvas. The artwork on it represents something that is very powerful and meaningful in my life. I look at my skin as something of a living diary because all my tattoos represent a time in my life. And I never wish to shut the door on the past, so I carry it all with me.
There have been times when I felt suicidal and I would stop my head from going in that direction of negativity because I thought there'd be something I'd miss that was funny in the future. If there's a chance I'm going to laugh tomorrow then want to live to experience that.

When a new person comes in, you can't help but evolve. Steve comes from a singer/songwriter background, whereas Perkins and I come from more of a jamming and experimental background, and I think what we came up with is a great combination of songs and musicianship.

During overdubs, I'd pick up whatever looked interesting at the moment or whichever guitar I hadn't played yet. I like having such a broad palette to dip into.
